R.T. Page and Sons is a third-generation family-run company, with over 70 years’ trading experience in road transport, storage, handling and logistics. Today we may have modern facilities, technologically advanced management systems and a team which is highly trained in progressive logistics – but we have never lost the customer focus or high service levels which are at the heart of the family firm.
We have a strong reputation for several things:
Our 5.5-acre owned site gives us stability, and versatility as an operation, and enables us to provide a broad range of services. We have 80,000 sq. ft of completely secure warehousing space, complete with extensive high bay racking.
Our modern transport fleet is specified for versatility, from transporting palletised freight to huge lighting rigs for international music tours.
We have bulk storage facilities, a container ramp and extensive parking and loading areas.
The security of your goods is a top priority so all of our vehicles are equipped with a full suite of tracking and security measures and our warehouses are fully secured with fencing, alarms, floodlights and CCTV.
“Anyone can do a job if it’s easy. At R.T. Page, we do it when it’s never been done before.”
1938
Long before R.T. Page was created, our founder, Robert Thomas Page, developed an interest in the transport industry whilst working as a driver for a building supplies business based in Littlehampton.
1947
After returning from wartime service with the Royal Air Force, Robert, together with his wife Dorothy, established R.T. Page and made a living clearing post-war rubbish and transporting building materials. Here’s a wonderful picture of Robert and Dorothy on Pier Road in 1937.
1950
Robert and Dorothy moved the business into an industrial yard in Horsham Road, where they expanded their business to include the supply of logs and garden furniture. Their young sons, including our current chairman, Bob, worked as log loaders and general helpers during school holidays.
1952
The business diversified into other areas throughout the 1950s – including removal services, as seen here. The strapline ‘Service and Satisfaction’ is as true today as it was then!
1955
The business was incorporated and became R.T. Page and Sons Limited. The business continued to expand and developed a general haulage capability.
1958
The company takes over a site in Pier Road, Littlehampton, which was to become the company’s main operating centre and offices for over three decades.
1961
Not even the infamous Arun floods in January 1961 stopped R.T. Page providing a reliable service! Our team continued to operate in adversity and we continue to provide great levels of service to this day – in all weather!
1974
R.T. Page and Sons support the Littlehampton Carnival by providing trucks and drivers for the floats taking part in the procession. This is just one example of community engagement that we pride ourselves in at R.T. Page.
1982
The company’s commitment to support local events doesn’t change, but the vehicles do! Here’s another one of our trucks, almost a decade later.
1986
The company musters the entire fleet of vehicles on Ford Airfield to mark Dorothy Page’s 70th Birthday. An inspection of the fleet in a helicopter ensured that Dorothy’s wish to see all the company’s vehicles in one place was achieved in style.
1988
Things don’t always go to plan, but we learn from our mistakes!
1989
R.T. Page and Sons move into their current site on the Rudford Industrial Estate in Ford. 30 years later the site continues to grow.
1992
The red livery of the R.T. Page and Sons’ vehicle was a familiar sight on roads, the length and breadth of the country. Our famous livery continues to grace the roads of the UK and across the globe.
1996
R.T. Page and Sons are recognised by Littlehampton Town Council for 50 years of service to the local community. Here we have Bob and brother Derek, a shareholder, receiving the award.
2002
The completion of further warehouses at the Ford site marked a significant expansion of the storage and logistical services on offer to customers.
2017
The fitting of a substantial suite of solar panels contributes to R.T. Page’s commitment to respect the environment and reduce energy consumption.
2018
The purchase of event transport specialists, Fuse Logistics, acquires a new capability and new Directors – including Bob's daughter, Tracy Page.
2019
Alongside a rebrand, R.T. Page launches a range of new transport services and brings back the red livery that was synonymous with the ‘Page brand’.
